Who are we ?
A team DEDICATED to the welfare and health of ruminants
RumeXperts is a consultancy CRO in Animal medicine and production management. Based on a group of veterinarian, former clinicians from University of Liege, the company has grown expertise in different fields of animal health.
The project, essentially inspired by ruminant veterinary science research, has led to the creation of a spin-off from the University of Liège.
We deliver service as Contractual Research Organisation to companies specialised in biotechnologies and biopharma. RumeXperts has developped a veterinary expertise adapted for applied research and development in Ruminants Health using edge biomarkers and AI powered bigdata platforms
We continue to act as part consultancy for farmers, which enables us to keep in line with the needs of the animal health sector.
Our customers are companies in the animal health, production and welfare sector, and we advise the sector or offer to recruit animal patients with known characteristics in five EU countries.

Cattle at the heart of our ecosystem
Today, a farmer takes an average of 30 days to respond to a deleterious change in livestock parameters. Agricultural data can predict this change in less than 7 days. Yet every day we make new decisions for the sustainability of our world.
The Belgian agricultural sector, and more specifically cattle farming, is currently facing a fundamental change due to a reduction in its budgetary margins, forcing it to achieve outstanding economic performance. The result is a specialisation of farms associated with professionalisation and optimisation of processes (preventive management, prediction, computerisation).
The health of the animals is the key factor in the profitability of the herd and its environmental impact, both through the individual impact of pathologies and through the need to restock cows imposed by the early culling of animals below their profitability threshold.
Climate change:
The livestock sector is experiencing climate change. Disease-induced delayed development and young cattle management are strong environmental keys in the fight against climate change.
Reduced margins:
Cattle farmers are undergoing a change in the supply and demand market, and we need to help them to be economically successful.
Society:
Sustainability is necessary, for the farmer and the society that depends on it. Livestock farming must therefore be liveable, viable, and fair.
Animal Health Data:
The cow is the most connected animal on the planet. Herd diseases can account for 10-25% of lost earnings.
Industry need:
The race for quality products requires traceability and quality vigilance.
We are convinced that further integration of climatic, pathological, zootechnical and therapeutic data is possible and would allow warning or prevention of some serious production or health problems at herd level.
This prompted us to set up the company RumeXperts in 2020 to combine livestock data, profitability and prediction.
