CRO – Contract Research Organization
Most members of the RumeXperts team are opinion leaders in their respective sectors, regularly consulted by the pharmaceutical industry, government departments and sectoral associations. RumeXperts has drawn on this expertise to set up a Contract Research Organisation (CRO) for industrial partners such as pharmaceutical, parapharmaceutical and agri-food companies and diagnostic laboratories. Our aim is to help these partners to develop the livestock farming of tomorrow by testing their new products using various types of trial (clinical trials, case-control studies, multicentric farm effect, etc.) and by setting up new health indicators for ruminants. RumeXperts’ knowledge of the ruminant sector through its network of farms, its work in the field in direct contact with animals, farmers and farm vets, and its expertise in data recovery and analysis make it a partner of choice for these manufacturers.
The services on offer range from making our network of farms available to take samples in the field, through to full editing of research protocols, carrying out the research, analysing the data recovered and writing reports.

Types of clinical trials
Thanks to our partnerships with various farms and experimental laboratories, we can be your sole partner in your research and development. Our ethics committee reports to the University of Liège (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine) and guarantees that your studies comply fully with animal welfare standards and the requirements of scientific publishers.
Phase 0
Safety studies :
10-15 animals to establish safety at low doses
Phase I
Dose estimation :
10-15 animals, dose gradient to estimate effect
Phase II
Assessment of the effect :
Group impact assessment for a 95% confidence interval and 80% power (1-ß)
Phase III
Comparison trial :
Évaluation de l’effet par rapport au placebo ou à d’autres médicaments
(CI 95%, P 80%)
